Metropolitan Region once again records the coldest morning so far in 2024

With a cold wake up this started Thursday May 2 in the Metropolitan regiona day that became the colder morning so far in 2024.

This is because, according to the Chilean Meteorological Directorate, the minimum reached 2.0 degrees in Santiago at 07:05 hours, leaving behind 3.9° received last Thursday, April 25.

While in the commune of Pudahuel a minimum was recorded 1.9 degrees at around 06:57 hours, and in Tobalaba the temperatures marked 2.6° C at 05:29 hours.

While for the rest of the day, the capital awaits cloudy skies and a maximum that will only reach 16 degrees.

However, and despite this cold morning, Meteorology projections indicate that Temperatures will continue to drop over the weekend in the Metropolitan Region.

Frost alert in six regions of Chile

The Chilean Meteorological Directorate (DMC) issued a agrometeorological warning due to low temperatures that will affect six regions of the country during this weekend.

According to the agency, this alert will remain from Saturday, April 27 to Monday, April 29 between the regions of Valparaíso and Biobíowith temperatures that will go from 1°C to -1°C in some sectors of Chile.

In the Metropolitan regionon Saturday the temperature will go from 3°C minimum in the coastal mountain range and valleys and from 2°C in the foothills. Sunday will go from 3°C in the coastal mountain range and valleys and from 2°C in the foothills. Meanwhile, on Monday from 2°C in the coastal mountain range and valleys and from 3°C in the foothills area.

While in the Valparaiso region temperatures will range from 2°C in the coastal mountain range and valleys, and a temperature from 3°C in the foothills. For Sunday the thermometers will go from -1°C in the coastal mountain range and from 1°C in the valleys. While on Monday there will be from 2°C in the coastal mountain range, from 4°C in valleys and from 6°C in the foothills.
