Through a statement, the Corrientes labor union indicates that the half-sanction of the norm “only benefits sectors of capitalist power and there is no measure that favors the people.” He demands the vote of “some” deputies and warns the senators that “the people are watching them and will not forget the meaning of their vote.”

The Corrientes Regional General Confederation of Labor (CGT) issued a document “rejecting” the vote on the “Bases Law” in the Chamber of Deputies of the Nation and assured that “the attitude of the National Deputies, with the collaboration of some Corrientes legislators ; in favor of measures that only benefit sectors of capitalist power and there are no measures that benefit the people.”

The Cegetist unions in the document titled “We will resist the Bases Law and we will fight for the rights of the workers,” also warned “the National Senators for Corrientes, that the people are watching them and that they will not forget the meaning of their vote at the time of “the ‘Bases Law’ project will be discussed.”

The document also expands on other topics such as: the role of youth, the unity in the fight and resistance against laws that advance workers’ rights, the little concern of the deputies in the daily problems of the people of Corrientes, the discussion of labor laws and ratified the call for the May 9 strike.

“The union arch redoubles its efforts in these complex and difficult times that the Corrientes workers are going through, to face the permanent adjustments with struggle,” he assured, adding that “The CGT Corrientes ratifies its participation in the national strike on the 9th May. For this act of struggle and resistance, it is working with its grassroots union organizations, so that this measure has the necessary forcefulness so that the Bases Law does not advance in the National Senate.”

Finally, the document signed by the Board of Directors of the CGT Corrientes says: “We appreciate and celebrate the participation of union organizations, sister labor confederations, social sectors, political groups, militants and youth movements; in these times of struggle, resistance and unity, to prevent the rights of all Argentinians from being overwhelmed.”
