The Association of Automotive Dealers of Argentina released the patent numbers in the country and in the province.

The Association of Automotive Dealers of the Argentine Republic (Acara) reported that the number of patented vehicles in the country amounted to 32,710 units last April.

This represented a decrease of 5.9% year-on-year, since in April 2023 34,766 units had been registered.

If compared to March of this year, an increase of 26.7% was observed. In the previous month, 25,815 units had been registered.

In this way, in the accumulated four months of the year, 117,492 units were patented, which meant 24.4% less than in the same period of 2023, when 155,508 vehicles had been registered.

“We are leaving behind difficult months and it is worth highlighting that they were without layoffs or dealership closures, and better indicators are beginning to be observed that we hope will consolidate. We are getting together with the banks and also with the (national) Government to recover financing” said the president of Acara, Sebastian Beato.

“Today, what is missing is the customer and we have to create incentives and facilities for them to return. There are key factors, such as financing, an honesty of the economy, increased salaries, lower inflation and stimulus measures by the State, such as the elimination of CETA, for used cars, and tariffs for 0Km, which indicate that We are going into a growth market, and April’s numbers are already beginning to show it. We will not get out of this situation suddenly, it will be gradual and the sector has already begun to undergo this recovery,” Beato concluded.

In Tucumán

During April, 971 vehicles were patented in the province, 2.5% more than in the same month of 2023, when 947 units had been patented.

In the accumulated of the first four months of the year, 3,295 units were patented, which represented a drop of 24.7% less than in the same period of 2023 (4,376).
