“All actions after the accident were carried out by the 14-year-old minor,” Lesly Mucutuy. This was revealed by the document from the Technical Directorate of Accident Investigation of Colombia, in which they describe, in detail, what really happened after the Cessna U206G light plane fell in the Guaviare jungle
and in which she, her mother, her younger brothers and the pilot were traveling.
The accident occurred on May 1, 2023 and, after 39 days lost, The Mucutuy brothers were rescued by the search teams of the Military Forces. During that time, they survived alone, eating only fruits from the trees. Lesly, the oldest of them all, was the one who guided them, cared for them and kept them alive, including to the baby who was just 11 months old at that time.
According to the report, Lesly was left unconscious by the impact of the plane, but “once he recovered, “He heard the cries of the other three minors” and “assisted” them. When he managed to wake up and see what had happened, “he noticed that he was bleeding in large quantities as a result of the open wound on the head”.

“To stop the bleeding and prevent insects from landing on the wound, He improvised a bandage with some articles of clothing that were inside the aircraftand with the gauze that he found in the aircraft’s first aid kit,” describes the document, which was prepared, in part, thanks to Lesly’s detailed account.
He added that his left foot was trapped by the rail of the chair he was occupying., number five on the plane. At that moment and in desperation to help his brothers, “the only way he managed to free him was by removing the piece” of the shoe he had.
There, he remembered, He took out the baby, who had signs of suffocation because he had the weight of his mother’s entire body., who was on him already dead. As it turned out, this allowed him to survive the accident.
Afterwards, Lesly freed her other two brothers from the chairs, who were also trapped there. Then, “everyone left the aircraft through the rear door on the right side, which had been previously opened.”
The investigation revealed that the four minors remained at the accident site for two days and two nights., next to the aircraft. “During this time, and according to the interview, the minors ate the copoazú fruits, which they carried in their luggage, and consumed the drinking water they found” there.
