“Give hope in sadness” is he motto proposed by the Department of Pastoral Health for the Sick Campaign 2024. A Campaign that the Church in Spain begins on February 11, festival of the Virgin of Lourdes, with the Day of the Sick worldwide and closes on May 5, with Easter of the Sick.
From the Health Pastoral Secretariat, the Pastoral Visit of our Bishop, Don Santos, to Calahorra has been organized next Wednesday, May 8:
– 9:15: Eucharist at the Residence of the Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly.
– 10:30: greeting to the management and staff of the Calahorra Hospital.
– 11:00: Visit to patients.
– 12:00: Visit to the Virgen del Carmen Hospital (Viamed).
As the bishops’ message for Easter of the Sick says, “faith and prayer open us to the hope that allows us not to succumb to sadness and suffering.”
May we continue praying, celebrating, accompanying and encouraging so many of our brothers who suffer from any type of illness, so that the Lord comforts them and the Holy Spirit fills them with strength, serenity and patience in the hardest moments.
