Governor Raúl Jalil received the Indonesian Ambassador to Argentina, Sulaiman Syarif, to discuss different investment possibilities from the Asian country in Catamarca, among them in the mining sector.
During the meeting, the diplomat expressed his country’s interest in acquiring Catamarca lithium and partnering with local companies to invest in mining projects that are being developed in our territory.
The Indonesian delegation plans to visit mining projects in the western province, with the aim of learning in situ about the operations and development of mining companies established in the province.
In addition to interest in litiferous development, the conversations also addressed the potential for developing geothermal energy projects in Catamarca, taking advantage of the fact that Indonesia is the second largest producer of this type of energy in the world.
The meeting was attended by Vice Governor Rubén Dusso, as well as the president and vice president of Camyen SE, Susana Peralta and Natalia Dusso respectively, along with other provincial authorities.
It is worth remembering that, last March, Governor Raúl Jalil and Vice Governor Rubén Dusso had visited the Indonesian Embassy in the city of Buenos Aires where they met with Ambassador Syarif and discussed opportunities for collaboration between Indonesia and Catamarca, focusing on mining investment and commercial and sociocultural cooperation.
