From Puerto Cachicamo (Guaviare) it was reported that the Ministry of Mines and Energy and the Institute for Planning and Promotion of Energy Solutions (IPSE) inaugurated a hybrid power plant in the district of Puerto Cachicamo, in the municipality of San José del Guaviare (Guaviare), which will produce 110 kilowatts through 266 solar panels.

The “Puerto Cachicamo Hybrid Power Plant” operates with 48 batteries to store energy and with a diesel support that powers a 23 kilowatt generator.

The cost of executing this project amounts to 2.8 billion pesos. 100 families who grow cocoa, rubber, pineapple, chontaduro and dairy products benefit.

This is how energy communities are created that satisfy the needs of populations in territories where the Government of Change has as a priority improving the living conditions of the inhabitants with resources such as solar energy.

The Minister of Mines and Energy, Andrés Camacho, said that the families of Puerto Cachicamo in Guaviare “are part of the great purpose of the Just Energy Transition, to contribute to the development of the territories.”

These actions are also part of the strategy to decarbonize the economy and the policy of decentralizing energy generation, storage and consumption.
