Ahittana, a 16-month-old Cuban girl living in Pinar del Río, woke up after spending 22 days in a state of unconsciousness. Her mother, Marielys Perezshared the emotional news on social networks.
“Dear daughter, it was 22 long days waiting for your eyes to open again. My tears falling into your hands while I asked God to wake you up from that deep sleep,” Marielys expressed in her Facebook post.
Also in the message he commented that many Cubans are praying for the health of their little girl and hoping that she will soon overcome this difficult stage in her health. “We are not alone,” said the Cuban mother.
The little girl has been battling West Syndrome, a severe form of childhood epilepsy, which has complicated his health from a very early age. His physical condition requires expensive drugs and continuous medical care.
