Kelly Johana Materán Rivero, the mother of the girl murdered in Girón, Santander, will not be able to transfer her daughter’s body to the state of Trujillo, in Venezuela.

The woman told Sup that the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of Bucaramanga denied him this possibility. “They told me that I could not take the girl’s body to Venezuela, as I wanted. Now what I ask you to give it to me so I can bury it.“added the woman.

The mother also pointed out that on May 2, a DNA sample was taken, the results of which will come to light in 15 days, the same period established by the forensic entity to deliver her daughter’s body.

“In order for the girl to be handed over to me, I had to have a civil registry or apostilled baptism certificate or take a test. I brought them the papers that she had, from the birth certificate in Venezuela, but it was not enough for them,” she said.

The woman had plans to take her daughter to her country of origin as soon as possible, as she had stated to Q’hubo. Karen Johana Materán intended to honor the girl’s body at the vigil that took place on the night of May 2 in the Rincón de Girón square and then transport it to Venezuela.

Given this distressing situation for the mother, the community and her loved ones scheduled a sit-in in front of the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of Bucaramanga this Friday, at 3:00 in the afternoon.

It seems very unfair to me not to have my daughter. If it is necessary to pay something to speed up this process, I will do it,” the woman said.
