At approximately 10 in the morning on Saturday, May 4, the emergency call was made known from the La Esneda neighborhood, in the municipality of Dosquebradaswhere a landslide broke off and left two homes affected and five people trapped.
Relief and Risk Management organizations from Pereira, Dosquebradas and Risaralda arrived at the scene to install the Unified Command Post, evaluate the damage and proceed with the evacuation and delivery of aid to families who are at risk.
The mayor in charge of Dosquebradas, Lina Marcela Mondragón, confirmed the death of two people, a minor and an elderly adult and others three minors who were rescued alive and transferred to care centers.
It is important to remember that in this same neighborhood the landslide was recorded in February 2022 that left 17 people dead and almost a hundred families affected who continue to wait for the relocation project to which the local and departmental administrations and the National Government committed themselves.
