Huila epicenter of the National launch of the Cosecha Plan

The launch event will take place at the ‘José Eustasio Rivera’ Convention Center, Los Potros room, this Monday, May 6 at 7:30 in the morning. It will be attended by coffee growers from all over Huila, the General Manager of the National Federation of Coffee Growers (FNC), Germán Alberto Bahamón, and authorities from the National Police, the Army, the Government of Huila, and other key entities for development. of the coffee harvest in the region.

Huila stands out for its important coffee-growing activity, with 85,900 producers, 147,969 hectares dedicated to cultivation and 102,516 coffee-growing properties. In 2023, production reached 2,237,400 million 60-kilo green bags, with a total value of $2.1 billion.

This comprehensive initiative would aim to improve and ensure coffee production in the region. This launch brings together various entities such as the Government of Huila, the National Police, the National Army, the Chamber of Commerce and the Transport Terminal, among others, with the objective of implementing measures that promote coffee production and guarantee compliance with the necessary regulations.

Currently, 21 municipalities in Huila are in the initial stage of their main harvest, which represents 45% of the total coffee year. The Harvest Plan would seek to optimize this process and ensure a successful, safe and sustainable harvest for the benefit of all coffee growers in the department and in Colombia.
