The Mayor’s Office will launch this Monday, May 6, the fumigation day in the Musical Capital to counteract the increase in dengue cases registered in the city, giving priority to the sectors where the greatest number of serious cases and deaths have occurred.

In commune 1, the Centro neighborhood, La Pola and the San Pedro Alejandrino educational institution will be fumigated; in commune 2 the San Diego neighborhood and in commune 3 the San Simón, Belalcázar and El Carmen neighborhoods, to the families previously contacted.

The Secretary of Health, Liliana Ospina, highlighted some recommendations for this day: “Remind you that while fumigation is being done in the neighborhoods, do not forget to close doors, open windows, do not go out for an hour, cover food, kitchen utensils, the water to consume, the food and water bowl of your pet, use face masks if possible.”

Likewise, the development of these fumigations will be carried out on a scheduled basis in the 13 communes and in the prioritized villages, in compliance with the action plan that the Municipal Administration has to reduce cases in the affected populations, especially in children between 6 and 11. years, who mostly present this disease.

The information on the dates and neighborhoods that will be fumigated will be announced on the official social networks of the Mayor’s Office of Ibagué, as well as the paths that are identified.
