After facing the high temperatures that left Caño Ciego, in Pivijay, Magdalena, in total drought, the community, in the company of the local administration, joined forces to look for possible solutions to this impact that has left the residents without a source of drinking water.

It is estimated that around 10,000 people in Pivijay are affected by the drought in the Blind Pipe. This figure includes the population that depends on the local aqueduct for its drinking water supply, as well as the farmers and ranchers in these territories.

Despite the rainfall recorded in recent days, Caño Ciego continues to face a critical situation, with water levels considerably below normal. This situation creates an imminent risk for the drinking water supply in Pivijay.
