One of the works that has generated the most expectation in the community has been the construction of the Ibagué Aquatic Complexin the sports park, a project that was part of the debt that remained after the failed construction of the sports venues in 2015 and that is executed by the Government of Tolima for the development of aquatic competitions and hosting national and international events.

The project, which is being executed by the department’s Infrastructure Secretariat, presents a progress of 97% in the work contracted with the “Temporary Union Special Works” which have a global investment of $41,000 million between work and audit.

“We are permanently monitoring the project; The objective is to make optimal use of resources and to deliver the finished scenario with all the technical specifications to the athletes who we hope will be able to use it in the second half of the year,” said Juan Felipe Bonilla, director of Habitat of the Tolima Government.

The Aquatic Complex will have three swimming pools (Warm-up, Competition and Versatile), stands, dressing rooms, judges’ areas, sanitary batteries, press room, roof, urban planning works and access for people with reduced mobility.

The Ibagué aquatic complex has three swimming pools and the work is 97 percent advanced

Currently, the respective tightness tests are being carried out, which is why we have had the support of the aqueduct company IBAL for the supply of the liquid and the stability of the works is being verified. For now, the white work and the final touches to the structure are pending.
