Army and Arturo Calle Foundation delivered school kits in Huila

In a joint effort to promote the education and well-being of children in the center, west and south west of Huila, the National Army, in collaboration with the Fifth Division and the Faith in Colombia team of the Comprehensive Action and Development Support Battalion No. 5, joined the Arturo Calle Foundation to carry out a remarkable day.

More than 400 families from the municipalities of Garzón, Hobo, Tesalia, La Plata, Gigante and Pital in the department of Huila, benefited from the delivery of 380 school kits by the Infantry Battalion No. 26 “Cacique Pigoanza” of the Ninth Brigade. This gesture marks a milestone in the Army’s commitment to the education and well-being of the civilian population.

Major Anthony Hernández, commander of the Comprehensive Action Battalion No. 5, expressed: “We promote these types of significant initiatives, which we do with love for our community, seeking alliances with companies that have a high social commitment, allowing our boys and girls to continue with their school year with the basic and elementary conditions.

These actions transcend the simple delivery of school supplies, since they also seek to encourage children to continue their studies, thus contributing to the prevention of school dropouts in rural communities. In addition, they commit parents to guarantee their children’s attendance at schools, strengthening the social fabric and promoting the safety of children in vulnerable territories of the Fifth Division.
