On the afternoon of this Monday, May 6, two soldiers were murdered in the rural area of Silvia Cauca. The crime is in addition to the four uniformed officers who were murdered last weekend in Algeria.

EL TIEMPO learned that the homicide was attributed to the ‘Dagoberto Ramos’ structure of the self-proclaimed ‘Central General Staff’ of the FARC dissidents.
According to the information, the homicide of the uniformed men was recorded after the armed group threw explosives. (tatucos) about the troops who are in that area of the department in security and protection tasks for the civilian population.

As a product of those combats, the professional soldiers Jorge David Fuentes, a native of Valledupar, César; Javier Sosa Ballesteros, from La Mesa, Cundinamarca, and Camilo Andrés Molina, from Galeras, Sucre, and Jairo Urrego, from Chigorodó, in Antioquia, were murdered.
In addition, two uniformed officers were injured.
A girl who had been recruited by the dissidents was also recovered by the Army.
The Minister of Defense, Iván Velásquez, said: “We are with all solidarity for the families of the deceased soldiers. We are attentive to the situation of those who are in the area and who in Cauca feel that there are Military Forces, capable and committed. “We are giving full support to all the capabilities that the Military Forces have.”
