Santa Marta firefighters have been without power for 24 hours: How will they respond to emergencies?

News update 5:55 pm: Air-e technical staff managed to restore service in the power supply to the fire department. A visit was also scheduled to review the sector’s transformer. It is important to specify that in the face of high consumption demands such as those handled by a relief agency such as the fire department, it is necessary to install a transformer for private use, that is, to exclusively supply its facilities.

The Santa Marta Firefighters, the only ones in charge of responding to fire emergencies in the city, launched an alert message because they are about to complete 24 hours without power, which seriously affects their operations and puts care in the event of an emergency at risk. .

The commander of the Santa Marta Fire Department, José Manuel Chaín Muñoz, reported that “the lack of electrical fluid affects our operation and emergency center; we have been without service since yesterday, May 6, at 5 in the afternoon.”

Seguimiento.co contacted sources from the Air-e company, who confirmed that there is indeed damage “in the main connection of the fire department.”

However, they reported that personnel are working at this time to repair the fault “to restore the power supply to the relief agency in the shortest possible time.”
