Toyota Corolla Cross MY2025: launch in Argentina, from $32,072,000

ANDhe Corolla Cross was a masterstroke by Toyota. Although the brand already had a presence in the C-SUV segment with the RAV4, its high price and obstacles to imports and taxes prevented it from marketing a large number of units, so the solution was to develop a more accessible Sport Utility on the base of the sedan. The formula was an immediate success and today, it is one of the brand’s best-selling products in our region and helped popularize hybrid technology.

To continue being a benchmark in this segment with more and more competitors, many of them also recently renewed, the Japanese firm presented an important update of the Corolla Cross, first in Thailand, then in Brazil and now in Argentina.

These are its main features:

The new:

It is the update of the Japanese firm’s successful C-SUV, which was launched less than a month ago in Brazil and is now available in Argentina, with aesthetic modifications, more technology and safety.

Based on the Thai model, the aesthetic modifications are not very profound but they are visible and if you look at the vehicle in more detail, you will find other small touches. The biggest novelty is at the front, which was reformulated quite significantly, leaving aside the enormous fish-mouth grille for a much more sober and at the same time more modern one, with a honeycomb-type framework for engine cooling and the rest in body color, an aesthetic resource widely used in electric vehicles. Starting with the XEi version, the headlights received an internal redesign and are similar to those of the Japanese model, with full Led projectors and a light signature that divides them internally into two. Below, the bumper incorporated new air channels at the ends and maintains a kind of black plastic defense with an aluminum-colored appliqué as a frame for the air intake and fog lights. In profile it only incorporated a new design for the alloy wheels, while at the rear, also from the XEi onwards, it added a slight touch-up to the headlights. In addition, the hybrid variants now sport a new badge with the acronym HEV.

Toyota Corolla Cross MY2025The interior also replicates the exterior formula, with subtle changes: like the Thai model, it incorporated 100% digital instruments with a 12.3” display from the intermediate versions, while the most accessible ones have a smaller screen. , 7”. Likewise, the multimedia system was renewed and now has a 10.1” touch screen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with wireless connection. Another detail is that it now has a more modern electric parking brake system instead of the anachronistic pedal system. The entire range received new coatings, colors and textures.

In terms of safety equipment, the C-SUV now offers the Toyota Safety Sense package of driving assistance systems as standard.

There are no modifications in this aspect: the SUV maintains the same engines as the sedan, with the 2.0 VVTi Dynamic Force gasoline engine (with variable distribution and double injection, direct and indirect D4-S), which develops 170 HP at 6,600 rpm and 200 Nm. of torque between 4,400/4,800 rpm, associated with a CVT automatic transmission with 10 simulated gears. For its part, the hybrid versions use the 1.8 VVTi gasoline engine associated with an electric motor with which it delivers 122 HP of combined power and 142 Nm of torque, also coupled to an eCVT automatic transmission.
