A pipe operator of the Intermunicipal Drinking Water and Sanitation Operator Organization of the metropolitan area of San Luis Potosí was the victim of attacks by a citizen who sabotaged municipal infrastructure and caused injuries to the public servant, who was responding to a report of water shortage in the Las Mercedes neighborhood.
According to the information released by Interapas and the interim president of the Municipal Government, Alexandra Cid González, the attacked operator responded to a request for water supply last Tuesday, in the Las Mercedes neighborhood, when a white vehicle stepped on and burst the hose. of the tank. After this act, the pipe worker asked the driver of the vehicle to drive with caution, as the hose broke and caused a water leak. The driver responded to the worker with verbal attacks, and then got out of his car with a “Stillson” key in his hand, with which he hit the Interapas operator repeatedly in the face and head.
Due to the injuries generated, the pipe operator was taken to receive medical attention, where he remained hospitalized for two days due to the injuries; However, his health progress was good and he was discharged without further damage.
After the violent event against the pipe operator, the legal department of Interapas filed a complaint with the State Attorney General’s Office against whoever is responsible for crimes for damage to municipal property, injuries and sabotage.
This violent act It is not the first that has happened in San Luis Potosí, since the beginning of the water crisis, various pipers have been victims of some aggression; On April 4, 2022, a water deliveryman who provided service to Interapas was murdered after being injured with a knife, for allegedly refusing to provide the service to a citizen.
