Javier Acevedo, provincial legislator in Río Negro for the CC-ARI, has recently presented a communication project aimed at the provincial government and Provincial Highways with a view to promoting the development of the coastal region by expanding Provincial Route 1, known as the Coastal Route.

In his statements, Acevedo highlighted the importance of this initiative as a boost towards the economic and tourist development of the area. The legislator proposes the extension of the Coastal Route towards Sierra Grande and the limits with the province of Chubut, envisioning a project that could generate considerable resources through tourism.
“It would be a very developmental project, which would bring a lot of resources for tourism,” commented Acevedo on SIGNOS FM. The proposal would include the optimization of airport infrastructure in cities such as Viedma, San Antonio and Sierra Grande, as well as the creation of new coastal towns.
Government support for this initiative appears to be positive, according to the expressions of Minister Echarrén of Public Works of the province of Río Negro, who has shown interest in seeking international financing to carry out the project.
Acevedo stressed the need for an intelligent approach that respects the environment and guarantees the sustainable development of the region. “If we do it intelligently, with resources, that investors come, that the work itself can be paid many times over with what that economic resource generates,” he added.
He project not only seeks to promote tourism in the Atlantic area, but also ensure sustainable economic growth that benefits future generations. “I think it would be a very good future projection for the Atlantic area,” Acevedo concluded.
This ambitious plan could mark a milestone in the development of the coastal region of Río Negro, generating economic and tourism opportunities that would transform the landscape and quality of life of its inhabitants.
