The planned times to recover the Solidarity Monument are met

• The execution of the works is estimated in four months.

Since the beginning of the restoration work on the Monument to Solidarity, the team of experts has dedicated efforts to return it to its splendor within the times set for executing the work. According to reports, the recovery is progressing successfully and it is expected that the city will see this property in all its splendor in an estimated time of four months.

Rosana Lombana, plastic artist and restorer of the Solidarity Monument, said that “we have worked quite quickly. The monument was disassembled, we are missing some main pieces from the top of it. Now, we face the great challenge of assembling it and ensuring that it remains identical, there will be no trace of the fracture.”

Johana Certuche, director of the Special Administrative Unit for Asset Management (UAEGBS) pointed out that “both the daughter of Master Lombana, and we from Goods and Services, are calm that the structural design of the monument will be preserved. “Some reinforcements are going to be carried out and there are some pieces that are going to be changed due to their condition, but the concept will not be modified.”

Héctor Darío Zuluaga, civil engineer at the company Destramos Consultores SAS, dedicated to risk and damage assessment, explained that “we are currently in the stage of completing the preliminary studies, where we are oriented towards a structural reinforcement plan that meet the requirements that the artist told us, in order to receive the restored monument.”

“The Mayor’s Office, headed by our Mayor Alejandro Eder, reiterates its commitment to transparency and efficiency in the management of this project, assuring citizens that we will continue to work diligently to meet the established deadlines and guarantee its prompt reopening. ”Certuche added.
