The director of the Provincial Road Safety Agency, Francisco Fleming, represented Salta at the 97th Federal Road Safety Council that was held in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. The opening was chaired by the Executive Director of the National Road Safety Agency, Daniela Ortiz.

With the participation of representatives from all provinces, different proposals were addressed to work on road safety federally with the aim of reducing road accidents and mortality in the country. They discussed the benefits of the provinces joining the National Scoring System, the regulation of the Alternative Public Passenger Transportation System, among other points.

Fleming highlighted that articulated work between the Nation and provinces is essential to consolidate road safety policies in the country. He also reported that Salta, representing the NOA region, proposed the modification of the internal regulations of the Federal Council to create the Communication Secretariat with the purpose of promoting the dissemination of road safety policies promoted by the organization.

Within this framework, the organization’s new board of directors was also formed after a unanimous vote. It will be chaired by representatives of Jujuy, in the first vice presidency by representatives from La Pampa and the second vice presidency by Mendoza.

The head of the National Directorate of Investigation of Automotive Events of the JST also participated in the Council, Thomas Raspall, and references in the areas of road and transportation safety in the different provinces of the country. The meeting took place in the Transportation Safety Board building.
