From Santa Marta, President Gustavo Petro once again questioned that, in other governments, the construction of 4G roads has been privileged in only some regions of the country, leaving aside basic needs of Colombians, such as having drinking water.

“(…) We have a mental problem with our oligarchy. (…) Spend 126 billion pesos on highways, in the two or three richest cities in Colombia and in the wealthiest sectors of Colombia that have valued the homes of our friends who do not share politics. That means they didn’t prioritize drinking water. It is absurd, irrational and inhumane that cement is privileged. How can you tell the population that in a century the problem of drinking water will be solved? “That can’t be,” said the president.

Finally, and with a call to attention, President Petro asked the director of the National Planning Department, Alexander López that the future validity of the country be modified.

“We got into a problem that is change the matrix of future validity of public investment for the next 30 years that is dedicated to 4G roads. Before the road, water and before business, it is life and water is life,” he pointed out.
