Capellán offers an agreement to improve access to the AP-68.

Logroño (EFE).- The president of the Government of La Rioja, Gonzalo Capellán, offered this Thursday to all parliamentary groups an agreement to work “from now on” on the execution of accesses to the AP-68 highway, which will be released in 2026, in order to provide permeability and improve internal traffic in the community.

Capellán has intervened in the plenary session of the Parliament of La Rioja to respond to the socialist spokesperson, Javier García, who asked him “if he does everything possible to reach agreements on community matters.”

“La Rioja needs to improve its communication, also internal, for the structuring of the axis that is the AP-68, that this road ceases to be a toll road in 2026, and from there, work on permeability through La Rioja Baja and for La Rioja Alta with the development of the accesses that are already in place,” he explained.

This is a “fundamental” agreement for La Rioja, which can begin this very day, he stressed, for which it is necessary that all parliamentary forces join their work “to ask the Government of Spain and the minister to release the toll of the AP-68”.

He has accused the socialists of “doing everything possible so that there are no regional agreements and the best example is that of trains, on which there is a general consensus in La Rioja.”

In this sense, he has criticized the fact that the senator for La Rioja and former president of the Rioja Executive, Concha Andreu, and the former director general of Infrastructure Vicente Urquía negotiated “with terrible results” in the ministries railway connections “behind the back of the regional Government.”

He has criticized that the proposal for a train from Logroño to Madrid with a three-hour journey and a stop in Calahorra was agreed upon with the social and economic agents, but the representatives of the PSOE “applauded” the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, who offered a train by Miranda de Ebro (Burgos) with longer duration of the trip
