The coordinator of the Risk Management Office in Huila, Isabel Hernández, confirmed that to date there are three municipalities in Red alert
and 19 on orange alert due to landslides and torrential floods from their water sources.

“We have several municipalities with damage. In Palermo there are emergencies in 13 villages and to date we have a record of 201 affected families, two homes destroyed in Santa María and La Argentina, fortunately these families managed to leave their homes and There were no human losses, we also have 17 homes at high risk and urban and rural aqueducts with difficulties,” said Isabel Hernández.

The official added that the most critical emergencies are concentrated in the municipality of Colombia, in the north of Huila, where the overflow of the Ambicá River destroyed part of the main road, where its inhabitants were cut off from the previous Monday with the rest of the department.

The other emergency is recorded in the west of Huila, where a sudden flood of the La Topa stream and from the Páez River they took part of the bench of the main road that connects the municipality of La Plata with the department of Cauca.
