The Peruvian delegation, headed by Francisco Ruiz, general coordinator of the VUCE 2.0 Project (Comex Single Window) belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of the Government of Peru (MINCETUR), described it as a “super interesting and invaluable” visit. visit to the facilities of Puerto Valparaíso with the objective of learning about the experiences in public-private collaboration that have been carried out regarding the development and implementation of digital platforms such as the Port Logistics System, Silogport.

The day on the ground included a visit to the Puerto Valparaíso facilities, a tour of the South Pacific Terminal (TPS), to finally see the facilities of the Logistics Support Extension Zone (Zeal), in addition to the offices of the National Customs Service in the port city.

The Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Juan Carlos Muñoz, valued the meeting and the recognition of the port logistics work of our country. “This visit will not only allow an exchange of experiences at a technological level, it will also provide the opportunity to learn about the successful practices of Chilean logistics communities and port facilities, which will surely contribute to the strengthening and continuous improvement of the Peruvian logistics sector,” he expressed. .

For his part, Juan Marcos Mancilla, Logistics Manager of Puerto Valparaíso, stated that “we consider it very important to be able to receive executives from Peru, especially in the technology area, because we realize that since in Puerto Valparaíso we are a reference, not only in the country, but also for the northern country, since they come to collect the experience that we have carried on this journey of the digital transformation of our logistics process.”

Likewise, the executive added that “we have been able to share our experience with them who are in a more preliminary stage in terms of their development of their Foreign Trade Single Window and their creation of the PCS. On the other hand, we have been using this technology, Silogport 3, for 15 years now, with processes that are always complex to implement and, likewise, we not only talk about the processes, which have to do with technology, but also about the logistics communities that “They support our activity and in this case they are responsible for the improvements that are experienced in each update, in each version of our system.”
Francisco Ruiz, general coordinator of the VUCE 2.0 Project of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of the Government of Peru (MINCETUR), commented that “there is nothing like talking to people who have had to endure this type of projects, I think that the experience that We have collected today is invaluable and we hope to continue collaborating. In terms of learning, what we have come to see today is gold.”

“We manage a whole set of projects and one of them is precisely the implementation of a port community system for the port, Callao, and we chose to come to Chile because it is one of the countries that has one of the port community systems or PCS, as it is called internationally, we believe to be the most powerful in the region, and we have come to learn about their experience in order to be able to replicate a similar experience, we hope, in the port of Callao,” added Ruiz.

On the occasion, they also discussed the progress in the materialization of the commitments ascribed in the Agreement for Valparaíso, highlighting the port expansion and its complementary works, the Strategic Plan for the Coastal Zone, in addition to the renewal of public spaces in terms of tourism. and the construction of the Port Center.
