During the month of March 2024, Ecopetrol registered a total of 3,233 jobs generated through its contracting companies, which develop projects and operations in different municipalities in the departments of Casanare, Norte de Santander, Arauca and Boyacá.

Of the total connections, 88.4% correspond to job opportunities for local residents, that is, for people who live in the areas where the Group’s companies operate.

It is highlighted that 78% of qualified labor contracts correspond to local personnel, exceeding the 30% required in Decree 1668 of 2016.

The municipalities of Aguazul with 1,346 connections, Yopal with 1,139, Tauramena with 631 and Toledo with 58, recorded the highest levels of hiring.

In the category of inclusive employment relationships, the hiring of 781 people was recorded, including 697 women, 48 people who obtained their first job, 25 victims of the armed conflict, 9 people with disabilities and 2 members of ethnic groups.

At the national level, the companies of the Ecopetrol Group generated 73,378 jobs through contracting firms during the first quarter of 2024.

Ecopetrol SA managed to hire 50,405 workers in the first quarter, nearly 245 more workers compared to the figure for the first quarter of 2023.

The subsidiaries also reported significant hiring figures between January and March of this year, with Cenit being the one that generated the most jobs with 10,792 people, followed by Hocol with 4,214 people.
