On May 15, 1931, the decree was issued specifying the geographical limit to produce our distillate between the regions of Atacama and Coquimbo, territory that marks our Denomination of Origin of Pisco. Then, in 2009, the Ministry of Agriculture set the date for its celebration.

Every year, the Association of Pisco Producers, Pisco Chile AG, meets to commemorate this date with different events. This year, together with ACHIGA and INACAP, it has organized an international Congress, which seeks to promote the ‘Country Brand’ through this recognized and valued national distillate, also bringing together the different actors in the gastronomic and wine tourism sectors.

The congress will feature keynote lectures given by nationally and internationally recognized experts, tastings with a wide range of piscos, technical visits on production processes and powerful networking with producers in the sector and fans who love this distillate.

The president of Pisco Chile AG, Francisco Munizaga, explained that, “this year we are taking important steps as an industry to valorize our pisco as national heritage, because we consider that it is fundamental for its positioning in the national and international markets. In this sense, the alliance with the world of gastronomy through ACHIGA, and the academy with INACAP, is key for pisco to be one of our brand ambassadors and the identity of our country.”

A MEETING POINT

The International Congress: Pisco, Gastronomy and Wine Tourism for the Positioning of the Country Brand”, seeks to be a meeting point between the most relevant and attractive industries or products that can enhance the Country Brand. Among them pisco and gastronomy.

In these days of reflection we hope to advance in positioning strategies. This is how on this occasion we are going to learn about successful experiences locally and around the world. Will be present, for example, Guillermo Lecaros, Owner of Bar “Mr. Búho”, in Gran Canaria, Spain, and Álvaro Barrientos, renowned chef and Gastronomic influencer, owner of Fuente Chilena.
