Mendoza suffers from the first cold front polar of the season and with it temperatures more typical of winter than the sunny autumn to which we are accustomed. This Sunday, the first consequences of the icy weather conditions could already be observed in some foothill villages. The thing is, the snow turned areas of Potrerillos such as Las Vegas and El Salto white.

Meanwhile, in the high mountains the passage to Chile remained enabled throughout the day, although the situation may change as Tuesday progresses because the snowfall forecast is firm.

In the plain, this phenomenon is expected to last throughout the week, with mostly cloudy skies and light to moderate winds. Rainfall will continue until Monday in isolation, while maximum temperatures will hardly exceed 10°.

Due to these conditions, Civil Defense asked motorists to take extreme precautions when traveling through certain areas because the road may be affected.

An even colder day is expected for Tuesday: “partially cloudy and cold, moderate winds from the northeast”, with a maximum of 9º and a minimum of 3º.
