The actions to combat crime, as part of the Comprehensive Security Plan of the State Security Secretariat, continue with favorable results after the capture of priority objectives that generate violence and the seizure of weapons, allegedly used by criminals, this derived from operational work aimed at preserving peace in the Potosí territory.

In the period from May 4 to 10, 2024, the State Civil Guard (GCE) arrested 171 people for their possible participation in criminal acts in the entity; of which 06 were at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic; while 163 were placed before the State Attorney General’s Office and 02 more at the disposal of the Civic Qualifying Judge.

The operational work for the recovery of units that are reported stolen, allowed the seizure of 23 motor units; 21 vehicles and 02 motorcycles. In addition, 06 alleged criminals were captured, dedicated to theft and/or looting of motor units; one of them linked to 17 investigation files for theft, leading to his recapture.

GCE agents arrested 13 criminal targets, allegedly linked to criminal groups for the sale and distribution of drugs; With this, a total of 344 doses of narcotics were taken off the streets; 270 being “crystal” or methamphetamine; 74 of cocaine and one kilo with 796 grams of marijuana.

Operations for the reconstruction of peace in the 58 municipalities of San Luis Potosí, allowed the seizure of 05 long firearms, for the exclusive use of public order authorities, as well as one short firearm; 11 chargers; three grenades; a grenade holder and a grenade launcher; as well as 19 rebar objects; two tactical vests and four ballistic plates, in addition to 10 sharp weapons.

These arrests stand out in the municipality of Ciudad Valles and in the capital of Potosí. In the first municipality, a criminal cell from a criminal group was dismantled. These people, originally from Matamoros, Tamaulipas and San Pedro Apatlialco, Morelos, were arrested. with long weapons, grenades, tactical equipment and magazines.

The State Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection urges the population to report through the Emergency Line 911 and/or Anonymous Report 089, any situation that appears to be a crime that violates the integrity of the people of Potosí.
