Yesterday afternoon, the Dagoberto Ramos Front of the FARC dissidents freed four kidnapped people, among whom were two prosecutors, a civilian and a National Army soldier. The delivery was made to the International Committee of the Red Cross, ICRC, in the department of Cauca.

The guerrilla group also criticized the attacks of the Public Force in Cauca and sent a message to President Gustavo Petro. The dialogue table with this group, and the ceasefire that had been agreed upon, was broken after attacks by the Central General Staff of the FARC dissidents on indigenous people and the civilian population.

In the released statement they stated: “To the National Government, remind you that intransigence leads nowhere, the hasty decisions taken against the FARC that led to the breaking of the ceasefire, the constant accusations against our commanders and their vain attempt to Holding a dialogue table with a minority that is not part of the FARC and does not represent even 5 percent of our guerrilla force is a bad path.”

While President Gustavo Petro through his account on X limited himself to expressing that “the members of the Prosecutor’s Office and a soldier kidnapped by the EMC in Cauca have been released.”

In good conditions

Meanwhile, ICRC staff confirmed that the four people were in good health. At the end of the liberation, they were transferred in the organization’s vehicles to another area to be delivered to their families. “We participated in this operation as a neutral intermediary to facilitate these people to regain their freedom and reunite with their loved ones.”
