Volkswagen will begin series production of trucks and buses in Córdoba

The Volkswagen Group Argentina company announced that the company will begin national serial production of trucks and buses in the province of Córdoba.

At the meeting, in which the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, participated, he presented the plan to produce five versions of the Delivery, Constellation and Volksbus modelsas part of an investment that the company has underway for the country.

In addition, the businessmen told the minister that they project for this year that the firm will reach a volume of 800 units and that the investments will allow production to increase to 1,300 units per year in 2025 and 2,700 units per year starting in 2026.

Volkswagen Group Argentina has invested more than US$1.2 billion since 2016 and more than 1.7 million units produced in General Pacheco and 15 million transmissions in Córdoba, the Ministry of Economy reported in a statement.

During the meeting that took place this Monday at the Palacio de Hacienda, Caputo was in the company of the Secretary of Planning and Management for Productive Development and Bioeconomy, Juan Pazo, and his counterpart from Industry and Commerce, Pablo Lavigne.

From the business sector, Marcellus Puig, CEO Volkswagen Argentina, was present; Marco Saltini, Director of Government Affairs at Volkswagen Truck and Buses; Roberto Cortés, CEO of Volkswagen Truck and Buses and María Ángela Stelzer, Director of Corporate, Legal and Public Affairs, of the automaker.
