Left-wing leaders expressed their firm rejection of the Base Law proposed by the government of Javier Milei, arguing that it represents a risk to democracy and social rights. In an interview on the program “We are the Morning”, Daniel Escotorinleader of Unidad Popular, expressed his concern and that of different social organizations regarding this initiative.

Escotorin signal that they are promoting a national campaign to repeal the Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU) of the Milei government, highlighting that these types of measures have excessive power and contravene the Constitution. He emphasized that the current situation gives the DNU more power than the Magna Carta itself, which he considers a serious threat to democracy.

Furthermore, he expressed his expectation that the Senate Chamber reject the Bases Law proposed by the government, highlighting its concern about the attitude of some Salta deputies who voted in favor of it, which it considers a breach of political commitment. In summary, Escotorín and other left-wing leaders are against the implementation of this law and fight to preserve democratic principles and social rights in the country.
