The Bank of the Republic in Tunja continues the concert season, with the Medellín Saxophone Quartet, this Thursday, May 16 at 6:00 pm at the Bicentenario Theater, with the support of the Secretariat of Culture and Tourism of the Mayor’s Office of Tunja and the Secretariat of Culture and Heritage of the Government of Boyacá.

This concert will travel from the south of Colombia, specifically from the Amazon, there through a sound and musical setting, using extended techniques of the instrument to achieve effects that resemble the jungle, we move forward, climbing towards the southern Andean region, with rhythms like the southern son, torbellino and guabina, then we move to the eastern plains with the rhythm of joropo, then we move to the Andean region, with the rhythms of bambuco and the hallway, then we go up and arrive at the Pacific, where the aguabajo, the currulao and the abozao, later we will be beginning the tour of the caribbean, entering the departments of córdoba and sucre with the joint, ending with all the energy and joy of the rhythms of the north of the caribbean region, such as cumbia, the merecumbé, the son, the chandé and the champeta, but not before passing through the island area, performing soca and calypso.

This tour is accompanied by audiovisual support, which consists of a projection of images that reflect the cultural traditions of the regions addressed, guided by a voice-over, which narrates some singularities of the regions or rhythms exposed.

Through the Caminos of Colombia, it is a montage that, in addition to being dynamic, is also an educational concert since through the route, a large part of Colombia’s culture is shown, giving elements to the viewer so that they can learn a little more about the rhythms highlighted in the main regions of the country.
