“In this sector, people throw a lot of garbage and aggregate is taken from quarries, it alters the normal course of the river, which makes both Municipalities vulnerable to possible floods and this place is not pleasant due to pollution, so It is necessary to work to recover it,” explained Chahla.

The municipal chief said that it was decided to move forward with this project, to which other municipalities in the Metropolitan area will also join, “in order to recover for all citizens these spaces that lately have been totally neglected.”

For his part, Gutiérrez reported that the project contemplates the prioritization of the coastal area with the construction of a theme park and fields for practicing sports such as soccer and basketball, among other works. “The idea is that the neighbors take ownership of this place so that they can take care of it themselves,” he added.

The mayor of Alderetes assured that “the objective is for San Miguel de Tucumán and Alderetes to work like a mirror, each municipality from its side,” to recover the river and its coastline. She reported that the mayors of Banda del Río Salí, Gonzalo Monteros, and Las Talitas, Marta Najar, will also be invited to join, given that the side of the Salí River is an area that involves all those municipalities of the Metropolitan area. “We all have to work to prioritize this area and provide the best to society,” she remarked.

Gutiérrez admitted that “this is arduous work, which will not be done overnight, so it is necessary to have the support of Governor Osvaldo Jaldo in these works.”
