Initiative aims to continue strengthening a preventive culture in Chilean companies in various sectors.

To promote a culture of risk prevention with a focus on occupational safety, Terminal Pacífico Sur Valparaíso (TPS) participated in a National Conference of Joint Hygiene and Safety Committees called “Towards the summit of occupational safety in search of zero accidents” organized by the Foundation of the National Security Council and the Autonomous University of Chile.

The day considered the presentation of 23 conferences that aimed to improve actions in the field of occupational safety and health, for which different topics were addressed that are directly related to the management, standards and functions that the members of the Joint Committees.

Along these lines, the presentations focused on the use of technology in terms of safety, evaluation strategies for exposure to dangerous substances, self-care measures, the importance of executive leadership, among others, stood out. For its part, TPS addressed the issue of culture and the commitment of its members to health and safety, highlighting the need to promote a proactive organizational culture in the identification and prevention of occupational risks, encouraging the active participation of employees. .

Juan Carlos Rojas, president of the TPS Joint Committee and one of the speakers at the day, commented that “it was a very positive event because it allowed us to learn in detail about the work carried out by other companies in terms of occupational health and safety, in addition to knowing how to address the needs of your workers. At TPS we understand that job security constitutes an essential value, which is why it must be the central axis in our work, and requires the commitment of everyone.”
