The capital City Council approved this Wednesday a new salary increase for municipal workerson an average of 7.4 percent; He also approved several retirement rulings.

In an ordinary session, the first chaired by the interim mayor, Alexandra Daniela Cid González, All the political forces that make up the Council approved the salary adjustment.

Thus, by common agreement, thesalary increases for the five thousand 447 officials and employeeswith differentiated percentage levels depending on the individual salary received.

The councilors representing the different partisan factions agreed that wage leveling reduces disparity and protects workers’ rights of the municipal public administration.

The table is broken down as follows: 11.5 percent increase for 242 lower-income workers with salaries of no more than 6,715 pesos per month, which add up to 4.5 percent of the payroll.

Increase of 10 percent to 2,038 workers which represent 37.4 percent of the registry, with salaries between six thousand 715 to 10 thousand pesos. Increase of 5.0 percent to 2,435 workers which are 44.7 percent of the register, who receive between 10 thousand and 20 million pesos.

So too, increase of 3.0 percent to 623 workers, which means 11.4% percent of the register, with salaries between 20 thousand and 36 thousand 119 pesos.

In this same Council Session, Araceli Arriaga Mandujano was sworn in as councilor of the San Luis Potosí City Council, replacing González Cid, current interim Municipal President.; In the previous session, Irma Muñez replaced another councilor, Ángeles Hermosillo, who is seeking to be elected mayor, for which she requested leave without pay.

Likewise, after the Permanent Commission on Pensions and Labor Affairs presented retirement opinions for personnel of the Municipal DIF, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection and the Senior Official’s Office, which were also approved unanimously.
