In an area known as Piedras Blancas, on the road that connects Dabeiba with Mutatá, the authorities found the lifeless body of Juan Camilo Goez Ruiz, one of the drug traffickers of the ‘Gulf clan’.

Nicknamed ‘Dimax’, in February 2021 he had been captured in a recreation house in Santa Fe de Antioquia, where he was hiding from the authorities. At the end of last year he had regained his freedom, apparently due to the expiration of his terms.

Goez Ruiz, was killed when he was on a public road and He was intercepted by a subject who shot him several times. The body was left lying next to a scooter-type motorcycle with shots to the head.

Although at first he was not identified, in judicial work it was established that it was this man, ornot from the trusted criminals of Dairo Antonio Úsuga David, alias Otoniel, extradited to the United States.

Otoniel, captured this Saturday, October 23.


‘Dimax’, 48 years old, according to information from the Police, had been appointed by ‘Otoniel’ to be in charge of the routes for the shipment of cocaine from Urabá to Central America and the United States.

Before his capture, ‘Dimax’ was carrying a life of luxury and eccentricities in Medellín where he posed as a prosperous businessman.

Due to its location, the government of former President Iván Duque, They had offered up to 200 million pesossince they accused him of being linked to 35 homicides related to drug trafficking issues.

Currently, he was one of the most important men in the organization that became led by Jobanis de Jesús Ávila Villadiego, alias Chiquito Malo.

​Although the authorities of Urabá Antioquia have not commented on what happened, in the subregion it is indicated that this bloody event would be related to the murder of three people more during the weekend.

The victims were identified as Yesid Salgado, native of Turbo and found lifeless in the center of Chigorodó; Alex Bonilla, born in Buenaventura and found in Carepa; and Yeiser Rodríguez, native of Turbo and completed in Apartadó.

“These are particular situations that we are investigating. They appeared in different municipalities. For these three deaths, the mayor of Turbo, Alejandro Abuchar, decreed three days of mourning.
