Avianca consolidates its commitment to the connectivity of Nariño. As part of the celebration of the first year of operation of Avianca’s Bogotá-Ipiales route, and regarding the incorporation of a second daily flight between the two cities, representatives of the airline met with the mayors of Pasto and Ipiales and with authorities of the department of Nariño. This route has accumulated more than 49,000 passengers transported during 2023 and more than 28,000 in the first quarter of this year.

“In Ipiales we celebrate the air connectivity from the San Luis Airport, which in addition to facilitating passenger transportation, also has an impact on the tourist activity of the city, home of the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de las Lajas, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest of National Character,” said José Amilcar Pantoja, mayor of Ipiales. In the case of Pasto, in 2023, more than 446,000 people traveled with Avianca on the route that connects the capital of Nariño with Bogotá. “From Pasto we join the anniversary of the Bogotá-Ipiales route and the support of Avianca so that the entire department has flights that promote the culture and progress of this region,” commented Nicolás Toro, mayor of Pasto.

“Our commitment to the connectivity of Nariño is evident. The bet we have made, together with the local authorities, to consolidate our operation in Pasto and increase flights to Ipiales has been a winner.
