The coffee farmer who fired a thief in a bakery was released: he had injured his son

Mr. Amín Cerquera Díaz, a 62-year-old coffee merchant, who neutralized a subject who tried to rob him in a bakery in the capital of Huíla, was released.

As it became known, the Prosecutor’s Office charged Cerquera Díaz with aggravated homicide, but he did not request security measures, allowing the merchant to remain free while the judicial process progresses.

The coffee grower discharged Henry David Perdomo Murcia, a 21-year-old criminal who approached him along with his son in a commercial establishment in the south of Neiva, after following them to try to steal a sum of money that he had withdrawn from a bank to pay the payroll of his employees.

The father of the thief identified as Henry stated that the young man had aspirations of traveling to the United States to work, but after trying, he was deported from Mexico to his homeland. While in Neiva, the young man would have taken the dark path and bad friends.

He also expressed that he deeply regrets what happened and asked that “God forgive him.” Although at that moment Henry had doubts about his son’s responsibility in the case, a security camera captured the moment in which he is seen trying to take the merchant’s money. Moments after the brawl in which several people are involved, it is possible to see how Mr. Cerquera pulls out a weapon and repeatedly hits the young Perdomo.

A debate broke out on social networks about Cerquera’s actions. Some praised his actions and others argued that by having him immobilized it was not necessary to take his life, since it did not seem to be in self-defense.

As the investigations progress, it was learned that Cerquera’s son was also injured. This would have provoked anger in the citizen and for this reason he would have shot. What do you think?
