The brave act of a mother to protect her son from a robbery in the Santa Catalina neighborhood of Santa Marta It was captured in a video that has gone viral on social networks.

In the images, you can see how a thief approaches the woman’s son right at the door of her house, trying to snatch her purse. The young man begins to struggle with the criminaltaking him inside the house while other family members, including older adults, try to help.
Upon realizing the situation, the mother runs away from inside the house and in the middle of a surprising action he launches himself towards the thief with a flying kick and some blows, causing him to fall against a vehicle. Surprised, the criminal is forced to flee without achieving his mission, with someone who appears to be his accomplice and who was waiting for him on a motorcycle.

After this incident, the community has asked for a greater presence of the Police in the area due to increased criminal activity.
For their part, authorities are using the video to identify those responsible for the attempted robbery.
