As a basic process for the workers’ conclave scheduled for 2025, the Municipal Conferences of the 22nd Congress of the Cuban Workers’ Union (CTC) are held in Holguín.
To date, three of these key activities of the labor movement have been carried out in the municipalities of “Calixto García”, Báguanos and Cueto, and the rest are expected to be carried out until the end of June.
Such spaces for dialogue and reflection are considered the congress at the municipal level, and as such have the objective of addressing crucial issues for union functioning, the contributions of the labor movement to the country and other relevant issues for the improvement of the CTC and well-being. of Holguín workers.
During the conferences, the importance of the active participation of workers in union life has been highlighted, as well as the need to adapt to the new challenges imposed by the Cuban economy.
The ideas expressed by the municipal delegates have also been related to strategies to improve membership both in the state sector and among new economic actors, correctly consolidate civil servants’ policy and achieve an effective link between the union and the administrations.
Likewise, the production of food from the collectives has been a highlight in the spaces developed so far, which lay the foundations for the Holguín union movement to arrive more strengthened at the final sessions of the 22nd Congress.
