The State Prosecutor of the Province, Gilda Pedicone de Valls, begins to say goodbye to one of her passions: teaching. The constitutionalist will give a farewell master class on Wednesday titled “Juan Bautista Alberdi: born in Tucumán, die in Paris.” To benefit from her retirement as a teacher, Pedicone de Valls will thus give one last lesson in the chair of Constitutional Law at the UNT Law School.

A radical legislator proposes the creation of a program to address adolescent violence

The solution to the crisis of violence among adolescents requires a comprehensive and unbiased approach. That is what legislator Raquel Nieva maintains, who is promoting the creation of a provincial program to address this issue and include the State, educational institutions, teachers, students and their families in the responses. “We have to listen more,” said the Concepción parliamentarian. Nievas warned that there are critical problems including problematic consumption and suicide. “The Province must work with greater emphasis on mental health, which is an outstanding debt. Access to care services must be guaranteed to those who request it and go out to identify critical situations. We must not forget that the pandemic left a very negative psychological mark on the entire society, but especially among young people,” explained the legislator. The project includes students from all over the province, both from the public and private systems.

Adiunt repudiates a Jaldo decree and demands that psychopedagogical cabinets be formed

The UNT Association of Teachers and Researchers (Adiunt) rejected the provincial government’s decree with measures to address youth violence, calling it “repressive.” “In the name of ‘combating violence’, the Government authorizes detention in police stations for minors under 18 years of age, proposes expulsions of up to one year and sanctions for parents if they are public employees. These measures are unconstitutional and illegal and, far from providing assistance and prevention to those affected, they are an instrument of repression and criminalization of our children and students,” the union said in a statement. Adiunt stated that the acts of violence and street fights of young people cannot be minimized and require a comprehensive approach. “Psycho-pedagogical offices are needed in all schools and not punitive measures,” he concluded.
