Transparency and responsibility: the public accounts of Gualeguaychú speak

By Delfina Herlax

As Councilor of the “More for Entre Ríos” Block, I want to highlight the recent approval of the balance of the 2023 Economic Year of the Municipality of Gualeguaychú. This act is not only an administrative step, but also an example of transparency and accountability to citizens.

The approval of this balance, endorsed by the Secretary of the Treasury and Mayor Davico, confirms what we had already expressed: the municipal public accounts were healthy and orderly.

The numbers reflect responsible and efficient management of public resources, demonstrating that the government transition was carried out in a transparent manner.

The municipal debt is at a controlled level, and a large part of it corresponds to funds from national and provincial programs, as well as tax withholdings that are in the process of being deposited.

It is important to highlight that, during Mayor Piaggio’s administration, the well-being of the community was prioritized, seeking dialogue with municipal workers and guaranteeing the payment of their salaries in a timely manner. Investment in public works was prioritized, improving the city’s infrastructure and the quality of life of its inhabitants.

From the “More for Entre Ríos” Block, we will continue working for transparency in public management and access to information for citizens. We believe that accountability is fundamental to democracy and we will continue to promote policies that promote the development of Gualeguaychú and the well-being of all its inhabitants.

Delfina Herlax is a councilor for the More for Entre Ríos bloc of Gualeguaychú and was Secretary of Finance and Economic Policy under Mayor Esteban Martín Piaggio.
