Boca lost 2 to 0 in Santiago del Estero, but turned the game around for Central Córdoba, ended up winning 4 to 2 and achieved its first victory in the championship within the framework of the second round of the Professional League.

The Santiago team started ahead on the scoreboard with goals from Rodrigo Atencio and Mateo Sanabria, at 3 and 47 minutes of the first half, but the team led by Diego Martínez achieved victory after Ezequiel Fernández’s double (2 minutes and fifth minute of discount of the second half) and Miguel Merentiel (7 and 35 minutes).

In this way, Boca added its first three points after the loss against Atlético Tucumán, placed itself in thirteenth position and remains in the Copa Sudamericana positions.

Central Córdoba struck first, since, after 2 minutes and, after a very weak response from the Boca defense, a center from the right by Oscar Garrido allowed Matías Godoy to enable Atencio, who headed into the area, evaded Sergio Romero and made it 1 to 0 with a subtle touch.

At the end of the first stage, in a play similar to that of the first goal that left Romero paying at the start, Sanabria anticipated the defenders well and made it 2 to 0 after a header at the gate of the six-yard box.

Already in the complement, Boca came out determined to look for the discount and, after a robbery in the middle of the field, Ezequiel Fernández and Kevin Zenón made a play inside the area, with a heel from the former Unión that left the former Tigre well outlined to score the first goal for his team.

In Boca’s line of growth, Fernández once again made a masterful pass that left the Uruguayan Merentiel alone, who advanced and scored to score the tie that lifted the team against a surprised local team.

At around 35 minutes, the team managed to take the lead when Miguel Merentiel scored his second conquest, the third for Boca that went back in history against Central Córdoba, while, when the fifth minute of stoppage time was played, Ezequiel Fernández sealed the victory with a rebound shot, after a right hand from Merentiel that hit the post and thus ended the game in Santiago del Estero.
