The Paradigm Foundation Cordova for Coexistence has signed a cooperation agreement with the Nursultan Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interreligious Dialoguein what Paradigma describes, through a statement, as “a historic event that marks a milestone in international cooperation.”

The agreement, supported by the Spanish Embassy of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, has been signed by the president of the Board of Directors of the Center N. Nazarbayev and the patron and representative of the Board of Trustees of the Paradigma Córdoba Foundation for Coexistence, Jesús Sánchez Adalid.

The Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation, created in 2000 at the personal initiative of Nursultan Nazarbayev, the first president of Kazakhstan and an emblematic figure in the nation’s history, is the country’s largest non-profit foundation. Its mission focuses on supporting young talents, developing social projects and civil initiatives, and fostering a competitive think tank, all under the principles of professional management and project coherence.

For its part, the Paradigma Córdoba Foundation, based in the Torre de la Calahorra in Córdoba, its mission, among others, is to promote coexistence between all cultures, emphasizing the exceptional cultural dimension of the city. Based on the principles of universal dialogue, the Foundation works to foster understanding and mutual respect between different cultures and traditions.

Dialogue and understanding

Both organizations share the purpose of building bridges between societies, promoting dialogue and understanding to address growing divisions and restore mutual respect between people of different cultures, traditions and religions. Therefore, they commit to making joint efforts and cooperating in the promotion and implementation of initiatives that are in line with the mission and objectives of both parties.

Said agreement contemplates:

  • The revitalization and popularization of the value of world religions.

  • The promotion of peace, harmony, friendship and tolerance between representatives of different cultures and beliefs.

  • Cooperation in the organization and implementation of joint social and educational events.

Strengthening the platform of consent and interfaith harmony.

For the first time, a cultural agreement is established between Spain and Kazakhstan, through the commitment of both Foundations to the development of projects and initiatives that promote understanding and reconciliation at a global level, with headquarters in Córdoba.

In the words of the President of the F. Córdoba Paradigm for Coexistence, Mr. Javier Martín: “This agreement, without a doubt, will reinforce the role of the city of Córdoba as an interreligious meeting point and promotion of coexistence at an international level.”
