With 18 votes in favor and one against through roll call voting, the 500+ District Development Plan was approved, which is made up of 5 strategic axes and 23 thematic lines under an investment of $7.6 billion, whose primary objective is to resolve the water crisis in Santa Marta.

Throughout an intense day of Extraordinary Sessions held between May 4 and 21, attended by different representatives of social groups from Santa Marta and leaders of the district portfolios, the document was studied and analyzed in two phases of debates that concluded in positive presentations by councilors Alejandra Santos, Jorge Arguelles, Pedro Gómez and Efraín Lozano.

The expansion of the Airport runway and the creation of the Cable Car are other bets of the government program. According to what was expressed by the speaker Efraín Lozano in plenary, for the execution of the actions it is expected to have the support of the National Government and its willingness to invest in our district.

“The government program that we have approved is feasible, sensible and executable. We can say that the actions that emerge from the document will allow the District Council to carry out the respective political control. Mayor Carlos Pinedo will bring true change and transformation for the city”: Said Councilor Efraín Lozano.

Likewise, during this extraordinary session, the draft agreement was approved to add resources to the budget of the District Comptroller’s Office with 18 votes in favor and one against.

Likewise, the project to set the salary of Mayor Carlos Pinedo was given the green light in a roll call vote with 17 votes in favor and one against.
