Government of Boyacá held a Security Council in Labranzagrande » PRENSA LIBRE CASANARE

In an effort to improve the safety and well-being of citizens of Labranzagrande, the Secretariat of Government and Communal Action of Boyacá, held a security council in the company of different authorities.

During the day, several sensitive problems that generate insecurity in the municipality bordering Casanare were discussed.

1. Drug use: The need to address the problem of drug use was identified. Awareness and prevention campaigns were planned to reduce this scourge, in addition to intervention by SIJIN.

2. Incorporation into the Public Force: The importance of promoting the incorporation of young people into the Army and the National Police was highlighted so that they contribute to the security of the municipality and the province.

3. The community was urged to report: The need to promote the culture of reporting among citizens was emphasized. The safe and effective channels that the community has to report any suspicious or criminal activity were reported.

4. Strengthening the mobility of the Police and the National Army: It was agreed to improve the mobility of the Public Force through the acquisition of motorcycles, in order to ensure a rapid and efficient response to emergencies.

5. Reinforcement of Police units: The reinforcement of Police units was announced with the designation of two new units, which will allow greater coverage and operational capacity.

6. Extortion prevention campaigns: Prevention campaigns against extortion will be launched, informing the community on how to recognize and report these criminal acts.

Additionally, a tour of the municipality was carried out to verify the facilities of the Public Force and their welfare conditions.

The meeting was attended by the Comprehensive Security advisor, Colonel (r) Alba Patricia Lancheros, the commander of the Police of the Department of Boyacá, Colonel Fredy Barbosa, the commander of the First Brigade of the National Army, Colonel Ferney Valderrama, the mayor of Labranzagrande , Jorge Vanegas, and all the councilors of the municipality.

“In this way, we seek to guarantee that our brave soldiers and police have decent conditions to live and perform their duties effectively,” stressed Alejandra Pico, Secretary of Government and Community Action.
