Students from the University of Manizales qualify for the National University Games in four disciplines

A total of 37 students from the University of Manizales have qualified for the Ascún National University Games, which will be held in Pereira in October.

The students of the University of Manizales have demonstrated their skill and commitment in sports by qualifying for the National University Games in Ascún. The athletes achieved their classification in four disciplines: karate, basketball, chess and volleyball, during the regional zones that took place from May 9 to 19 in Ibagué, Neiva and Espinal.

The coordinator of Sports and Culture of the Human Development Division, Catalina Buitrago Ocampo, highlighted the representation of the men’s and women’s 3×3 basketball teams, women’s volleyball, chess, karate do and men’s indoor soccer. Buitrago Ocampo praised the discipline and commitment of the students and their coaches, who once again demonstrated their integrity and raised the name of the University of Manizales.

The Ascún 2024 National University Games will take place in Pereira in October. The 37 students who are part of those selected will represent the institution in this meeting that brings together all the universities in the country.
