Huila will have a permanent delegate from the National Institute of Health

The institute will have a permanent presence in the department, with the aim of strengthening public health programs.

In an important advance for public health in Huila, the National Institute of Health (INS) announced its permanent institutional presence in the region. This significant step was achieved by the management of the Governor of Huila, Rodrigo Villalba Mosquera, who requested the support of the national entity to improve health services in the department.

The announcement was made by Sergio Mauricio Zúñiga, Secretary of Health of Huila, who highlighted the relevance of this decision in strengthening regional health programs.

“We have achieved, thanks to a request from the Governor of Huila, that the INS, the most important health entity in the country, has an institutional presence in our department. “This represents a great achievement to improve the efficiency and quality of health services, as well as to expand their coverage,” Zúñiga stated.

“Our objective is to deconcentrate the functions of the INS and provide technical support to territorial entities. After talking with the Governor of Huila, we decided to establish a collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Huila to jointly improve public health indicators. “We are committed to supporting the development of science, innovation and technology processes applied to the health of Colombians,” said Giovanny Rubiano, director of the INS.

The INS, whose mission includes promoting, guiding and coordinating scientific research in health and biomedicine, as well as developing and transferring technology in these areas, will play a crucial role in improving health conditions in the department. In addition, the entity will be in charge of health surveillance, production of biological supplies and will act as a national reference laboratory.

This Friday, May 24, the protocolization of the cooperation agreement between the INS and the Departmental Government will take place. The event, which will take place at the Government facilities.

The permanent presence of the INS in Huila promises to transform the health panorama in the region, offering advice, accompaniment and constant support to local public health processes.
